Carolyn Judd, PT, the founder of Cole harbour Physio & Rehab, graduated with her BSc(Hon) Biology in 1983, and worked in the fitness industry for 7 years, which is where she found her passion for Physiotherapy. “I saw people after amputations, with spinal cord injuries, and post neurological issues trying to exercise and I knew little to help them. I had met several Physiotherapists over the years who had inspired me and finally felt I had found my calling”. Carolyn returned to Dalhousie University in 1990 and graduated in May of 1993. Carolyn’s career as a Physiotherapist started at the Moncton Hospital where she gained experience in a broad range of areas such as burns and plastics, acute orthopaedics, neuro rehabilitation, and cardio respiratory physiotherapy. She worked with people post surgery, amputation, in palliative care and also in the outpatient setting, this gave her an excellent background to move into private practice where she worked for the Renova group for 5 years before opening Cole Harbour Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation centre Inc in 2003. Carolyn grew the business from herself as sole physiotherapist and a reception to the staff of 12 it is today, including 3 Physiotherapist, 2 massage therapists, a Kinesiologist. Physiotherapy assistants and administrative staff. Purchasing the current building and moving into it was a huge step for Carolyn in 2008, but one she has never regretted. The building was further renovated to allowed growth and rebranding to Cole Harbour Physio & Rehab of the business in 2018. Carolyn continues to treat patients approximately half time while running the business. Her skill in muscle balance and exercise therapy, acupuncture, manual therapy and education have stood the test of time and she has a large number of return cliental who appreciate her now over 30 years of experience. In home physiotherapy is also a growing area for Carolyn’s practice as she appreciates the need for some people to stay in their home for treatment, and enjoys this very different one on one setting. When not working, Carolyn enjoys being a mom to two adult daughters. She enjoys time with her partner and friends. She particularly enjoys live music, dancing, walking with her dog and spending time at her cottage and in her gardens.
